Experienced team player able to work from prints and have prior experience in structural builds.
Able to interpret blue prints in order to make cut lists, prioritize build sequence of structure and find any deficiencies in design.
Able to make precision measurements and mathematically calculate take offs for lay out of parts.
Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler
Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments
Competent in cutting parts to proper lengths using oxy/acetylene, plasma, ironworker, saws or grinders.
Expert knowledge with hand tools and power tools and their safe operation.
Able to lay out complex angles, copes, miters and hole patterns called for on blue prints.
Prepare weld areas by beveling, cleaning and grinding.
Competent in crane operations and safe rigging techniques.
Able to safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts and aerial lifts.
Fabricate jigs or templates to accelerate production.
Effectively keep a team of up to three welders and a helper productive by anticipating future steps needed to complete a project.
Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts
