-Set up machines (calibration, programs, fixtures, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle.
-Control and adjust machine settings.
-Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines.
-Perform all dimensional inspections.
-Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the supervisor or lead.
-Inspect parts with precision.
-Fix issues that might occur during the shift.
-Check all work for quality.
-Perform routine operator maintenance and operational checks on all tools and equipment utilized to include: tool sharpening, machine oiling, fluid level/air pressure checks, safety switch functioning, etc.
-Gaining a thorough knowledge of a wide variety of factory machinery and how it works.
-Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams and interpret job orders to select, position and secure machinery, construct product from blueprints.
-Measure completed work to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates or rulers.
-1 to 3 years related experience in a metal fabrication setting.
-Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Write simple correspondence.
-Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
-Ability to read and interpret prints and work orders.
