If so, Manpower is assisting a company in the Des Moines area with their search for a Sr. Process Engineer. This is a permanent position that offers strong pay.

What is the job?
-As a Sr. Process Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing assembly processes and related documentation as part of our new product development (NPD) team. You will be involved in the product development cycle following a phase gate development process from initial concept to the start of production. Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, knowledge of fabrication and assembly equipment as well as problem solving skills will be necessary for completing projects on time and within budget. Good interpersonal communication and team interaction skills are required. Your focus will be on developing assembly methods, equipment, fixtures and tooling. You will be responsible for documenting assembly and manufacturing methods by means of flowcharts, PFMEA’s and control plans to be handed off to one of our global manufacturing sites.
-Develop and maintain Process Flow Charts, PFMEAs, Control Plans and Work Instructions for new product lines in pre-production and supporting to production.
-Represent the Process Team while actively participating in project specific design reviews with the cross functional NPD team.
-Execution of Design for Assembly and Design for Manufacturability of new designs.
-Interpret prints containing GD&T to define necessary assembly steps and data required to be collected for process control during prototyping and mass production.
-Implement Lean Manufacturing principles to continuously improve processes, equipment, and assembly techniques.
-Transfer knowledge and lesson learned between development and production site(s) by frequently interacting with colleagues located around the globe.
-Use the 8D methodology to identify root cause and implement permanent corrective actions.
-Develop assembly tooling, fixtures, and assembly/work station designs using SolidWorks.
-Strong involvement in initial prototype builds. Responsible for the generation of quality plans.
-Other duties as assigned.
What you bring to the job?
-Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering or closely related technical field required.
-8+ years of experience in process engineering or closely related field. Experience in new product development preferred.
-Automotive tier 1 industry experience highly preferred.
-Must be knowledgeable of APQP.
-Have a mastery level of FMEA, Control Plans, and Flow Charts.
-Proficiency in using SolidWorks or similar software for 3D modeling and drafting purposes.
-Able to travel domestic and internationally <15%.
-Familiarity with GD&T and interpreting complex assembly and component prints.
-Experience using advanced functions within Microsoft Office products.
-Six Sigma experience preferred.
